Toyota has released details about the next-generation of its popular Tacoma pickup truck, and the engine it uses.
The engine, which is designed for the company’s upcoming LS1 platform, is expected to have a displacement of about 4.8L.
The engine, called LS1, is built in the U.S. and is produced in North America by LS1 Engineering.
The truck’s engine will be paired with a 6.2L, four-cylinder turbocharged four-barrel carburetor that will have a compression ratio of 2.98:1, and a compression output of 1,100bhp.
The turbocharged engine will also be paired to a 6-speed manual transmission.
The next-gen Tacoma is expected in 2021, with a starting price of $17,995.
